We will be celebrating British Pie Week, with a selection of British pies, available in our market list from 2nd to 8th March, such as:
Fish pie
Mixture of salmon, smoked haddock and cod bound in a rich cream fish sauce with hints of English mustard and anchovy, covered with mash potato, topped with a parmesan bread crumb
Pork, celeriac & apple
Chunks of pork cooked with onions, leeks and celery cooked in a cream white wine pork sauce finished with chunks of apple and celeriac, the crust is a suet pastry
Beef , red wine & mushroom pie
Pieces of beef marinated in red wine then cooked with the marinade and the addition of chicken stock and veal stock with carrots, onions, thyme, garlic, celery and field mushrooms, topped with a suet crust
*All served with a side of mixed leaves
